How it works

From first visit to final check

Timing depends on measurements, material availability, fabrication and access. We'll explain the expected schedule with your quote.

  1. Site visit

We look at where the railing will go, whether it's inside or outside, and how the space is used.

  2. Measuring

We measure the run, heights, stair angles and corners, and check the type and condition of the surface it will be fixed to.

  3. Options & quote

We go through glass or aluminum infill, finishes and how the railing will be mounted, and quote with the expected schedule.

  4. Installation

Posts or mounting hardware are fixed, glass or infill is installed, and the railing is checked and cleaned.

Common questions

Before you call

More answers in our full list of questions, or call (647) 504-4338.

Can damaged glass panels be replaced?

Usually, yes. A cracked or broken panel can often be replaced on its own if the rest of the railing and its hardware are in good condition. Send us a photo of the damaged panel and the railing around it.

Can a railing go on existing steps or a deck?

Often, yes. It depends on what the steps, deck or floor are made of and their condition, because a railing has to be fixed securely. We check the mounting surface during the site visit and explain what's possible before quoting.

What affects the design?

Whether it's inside or outside, the surface it's fixed to, stair angles and corners, glass panels or metal pickets, the finish, and how you want it to look with the rest of the house.

Do you work on condo and high-rise balconies?

Yes. We repair and replace balcony glass, condo windows and glass on high-rise buildings, including work at height. See condo & high-rise glass.
