How it works
From first visit to final check
Timing depends on measurements, material availability, fabrication and access. We'll explain the expected schedule with your quote.
Site visit
We look at the existing openings, how the windows or doors open now, and what you'd like to change.
Measuring
We measure each opening, check the frame, sill and surrounding wall, and note anything that affects removal, delivery or installation.
Options & quote
We go through styles, glass and hardware that suit each opening, and quote with the expected schedule.
Installation
Old units come out, new ones are installed and sealed, operation is checked and the area is cleaned up.
Common questions
Before you call
More answers in our full list of questions, or call (647) 504-4338.
Can my existing openings be reused?
In many cases, yes. If the opening is in good condition, new windows or doors are measured to fit it. If it needs to change size or shape, or the wall around it is damaged, we'll tell you during the site visit, before you get a quote.
What affects the options?
The size and shape of the opening (an arched top changes what's possible), how the window or door needs to open, the space in front of it, glass and hardware choices, and access to the opening for installation. We'll go through what suits each opening when we measure.
What happens during measurements?
We measure each opening in more than one place, because openings are rarely perfectly square. We also look at the frame, sill and surrounding wall, ask how you use each window or door, and note access for delivery and installation.
Do I need a new window, or just new glass?
If only the glass is broken or fogged and the frame is in good shape, replacing the glass is usually enough. See glass repair & replacement. If the frame is damaged, worn or doesn't open properly, a new window may make more sense. We'll explain what we find.
